Getting the finger out…
Written by Declan on April 29th, 2009 Categories: General, Latest | there are 2 Comments »“Start the blog in the middle and work from there”, I’ve been told – useful advice, considering we’re almost five years into the journey of just-one. “Keep it short” is other advice I’ve been given and this, in so many ways, is where my problem begins…. I don’t think short, I don’t talk short and I certainly don’t write short… In fact, the initial and indeed the developing story of just-one is about as long and convoluted as I’ve heard the Annapurna trekking circuit to be!
Regardless, I can no longer use that as an excuse for remaining shamefully silent on the on-going work of just-one in assisting disadvantaged children to access educational opportunities and I really do need to get the finger out! There’s so much going on and so much to tell, but I suppose I have to start somewhere… The very nature of our work and the vertible can of worms that we operate in leaves me certain that it will be no easy task to tell a straight and simply story, but perhaps with all these tags, categories and a little bit of time and practice, then maybe a clearer picture and more functional web-site will begin to emerge…. Wishful thinking??
So, with the countless kind-hearted trekkers and tourists soon to be replaced by countless kind-hearted monsoon volunteers, be sure to watch this space as the just-one blog is about to be re-born!

Hello Declan,
Great to see a bit of news on here. It was timely, as lots of my colleagues at work were interested to hear about your work in Nepal. Speak to you again soon,
